Review – Lily Eve

It is difficult to put into words what an amazing and magical experience we had in Jakobsbakken. Four of us had a three day experience at the Jakobsbakken Mountain Resort to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday. Erik, Mona and Thor created an experience that was fun, exciting, educational, relaxing and delicious. They were kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The village itself is breathtaking and looked like a winter wonderland straight out of a movie - it really has to be seen to be believed.

 

The photographs do not do the apartment we stayed in justice. It was renovated to the highest standard and had everything we could possible need. The apartment was warm and cosy, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchen facilities were great. We had a wonderful time playing in the snow (including a blizzard) snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and dog sledding. It was so nice to come inside from the cold to delicious home cooked comfort food by Mona who used lots of local speciality ingredients. Jakobsbakken was so peaceful and the resort provides the perfect setting to both enjoy the beautiful nature outside, but also snuggle up inside in front of a movie or a book if you need some rest. We learnt lots of interesting information about the local area and its history.

 

We all want to return to Jakobsbakken immediately - we would love to see how beautiful it looks in the summer. We left feeling a genuine friendship with Erik and his family and we couldn’t be happier. Tusen takk!
